Little purses for gifts steps 1 & 2

Here is the finished purse.

Step 1: quilt a piece of fabric & cut out the shape.

Step 2: make some bias binding from a 2" wide strip.
This must be cut on the bias to stretch around the curve.
Now sew to each end of the quilted fabric.

More steps to follow as I get to them.

12" October block for Debbie

Here is my block I am sending Debbie.
As she is in Canada, my last block hasn't got overseas yet, I thought I had better send it early.
So it is on the way. With a little something as well.
Debbie asked for any block in yellow & white tone on tone.
Refreshing

This block is called Dutch Pinwheel.
You can see it on TWIN FIBRES blog

I used the easy half square triangles way. Making 8 at a time.
Here is a good tutorial to make these 1/2 square triangles at

I had a great day out at Heathcote today
Barbara from Strathdale Quilters came and showed us how to make a small wall hanging.
It is called "4 in the raw" by Helen Godden.
I used Maple Leaves so hopefully I can use them with my 6" block swap squares I receive.

My feature walls

I have been so busy painting my house.
I have now done the feature walls. I made a dramatic change and decided on a brown colour to get away from the pale yellow that we had.
All that needs to be done now are all the trims and doors.

See the 'jigsaw puzzle' quilt that I am using.
It is the one I made my son for his 18th birthday.

Anna's Paper Pieced Block

Anna asked for a 12 "  block in muted colours on a cream background.
Here is my finished block with a little gift I sent.

Blocks for Traci

Here they are Traci.
The block on the left is the same fabric I used for my paper pieced swap

These 2 I have used scraps and added a pocket for that sweet treat.

CHOCK-O-LATTE with a friend

I have decided to use this quilt as my entry in the Kilmore quilt show
Chocolate & Roses

My friend and I started this quilt at the same time and we set deadlines for when each section was to be finished. She lives interstate so we would get together every few months to start the next section/border.
It is now complete.

September 12" block swap

My partner this month was Cathy.
She asked for a 9 patch in scrappy purples & a solid black centre. Hope she is happy with my choice of fabrics.
Cathy will cut it back to a 12 1/2" block & make a disappearing 9 patch.
