More scrap placemats, pin cushions and a little zipper coin purse

I have another placemat to add to the pile. This makes no. 14 I think.

I have been asked to make them a bit smaller. I have been doing them 12”*18”.

So I now am going to do them 10”*16”….

After finishing the backing for my large Bordertown B’s quilt I have use the last of the crumbs up.

I made 3 pin cushions making a total of 21.

And a cute little zippered coin purse. Of course, you can use it for anything. I might use it for my thimbles.

CHOOKSHED challenge no. 5 progress

May .. no. 5

I have some progress not a finish.

I started with copying the pattern into 4 different sizes.

I pulled out my pink scraps as it was the colour of the month for RSC. May is Pink — RSC

Also found some chenille and minky as I have decided to make a little baby quilt.

Found some fabrics for the backing.

Started making some blocks in both directions.

And I have a big mess to go with it.

Scrappy blogs & Yellows have ran out

After reading the blogs of all the others scrapers joint in with Angela and their yellows here....
http://superscrappy.blogspot.com.au/2017/06/scraphappy-saturday-sunny-summer.html

And I'm joining in and linking up with OH SCRAP
http://quiltingismorefunthanhousework.blogspot.com.au/2017/06/oh-scrap-qal-strip-sets.html

I came across Joanne making these cute butterfly blocks.
I asked for the pattern and she had blogged about her tutorial. So I gave it a go....
I have had a lot of people ask how I sew my scraps, CRUMBS, together to make them into a block of something interesting. So while I was sewing up these butterfly blocks I took some photos.
Any size piece fits in somewhere. Just join them together... You'll be amazed with what you get....
I sewed lots of pieces together.

Then trimmed one side.

Added some more fabric...
What you cut off somewhere, just join it to another side. It will all fit..

Then trimmed to block size I needed.

And here we go following Joanne's tutorial this is what I got...
