Spotlight bargain shopping

I recently had an impromptu visit to Spotlight. Of course there was a sale on..
Clearance fabric was 50% off if you bought 3 or more metres. But, if there wasn't that much on the end of blot you got that piece half price too.
My total buy was 23.3 metres for $76..
I'm very happy.
HERE THEY ARE TO SHOW YOU.

This was a great find.. I was only charged $1.50 for it. Imagine the squares cut up and alternating fabrics added. Maybe some sashings. I think I could get 2 quilts for Aussie Heroes with it. I know it's a Xmas design but it also features cars. Who knows what I'll do with it in the end.

We have Mystery Quilt sewing night coming up. It's a fund raiser for charity.
We need 3 colours . This is the start. I. Not sure if I use a white tone on tone (from stash) or go and buy a piece of green. I'll wait and see what my mood takes me to.

Our group has just got a new book in the library.
It's called "MODERN VIEWS with 3-Yard Quilts" by Donna Robertson.
The quilts in this book only use 3 colours (light, medium & dark) and a yard of each to make the size quilt I need for Aussie Heroes. This fabric will be my first make.

Cream tone on tones are always being used.

A lovely red to add the the Xmas stash.

Always loving a bargain.

Garage sale Fabric shopping...

Oh wow... The other Saturday I got a call from a fellow quilter, Karen....
There's a garage sale with cheap quilting fabric. Only 15 minutes from home.
I quickly shower, make a few calls, pick up another friend, grab a coffee and set off.
We get to the sale... WOW...
Call another friend... By the time she tirns up here is my shopping pile...
I have measured, folded & sorted into lengths for easy finding..

All measured, folded and sorted. Ready to pack away...

$150 later, 160 metres, 1 polyester quilt, 2 cushion inserts, 1 plastic storage tub and a pile of magazines to flick through... It was amazing. Thanks for thinking of me Karen. I am sure to get a lot of charity and Aussie Hero quilts made from this win...
My other 2 friends also scored a bit too.

My shopping BARGAIN

I was lucky to be given a Spotlight voucher for Xmas. So what do you do, GO SHOPPING, of course. I headed off to look for some fabric to make my youngest grandson a PAW PATROL quilt. Firstly I was thinking of buying a sheet set so we could use the flat sheet as the backing and have a matching bottom sheet and pillow case. Couldn't find one. Then we saw a quilt cover but that was a bit expensive and you would have left over fabric that you wouldn't use. Next I decided on just buying fabric.. So I looked... This is what I got...

WHAT A BARGAIN...
50 metres for $150. Take off the $50 voucher and all I paid was $100.
Yes, a real BARGAIN... 50 metres.... $3 per metre.
Now I just have to use it all.....
