Happy birthday Kristy and Mothers Day

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday which falls on Mother’s Day this year.

Always a special time. We gathered for dinner and shared gifts.

Having a few laughs and a cuddle with mum and dad.

Balloons are a very special reminder of family. Colours chosen accordingly. A cute flower.

Have to have a yummy cake

A beautiful native bunch of flowers

and a gift voucher purchased these for her entertaining area.
Testing to see if it worked.

And feeding the birds.

Now time for my gift.

Thank you Kristy. I love it. I am so excited but now I have to wait a while. It will be worth it though.

Happy Mothers Day sitting relaxing and some hand quilting.

Now the weather has turned and it starting to feel like winter it is not really cold enough for the heater to be on. What better way is it to snuggle underneath a quilt. Better still, why not hand quilt and keep yourself warm and comfy. So I got out this beautiful quilt my friend gave me for my birthday quite a few years ago. It was a scrappy top that Sue made as I was not into scrappy then but I am now. It has come in and out of the cupboard so I think it will stay out this winter. Hopefully getting some more progress this year.

I am big stitch quilting with thick cotton thread.

I am linking up with Kathy for slow stitch Sunday

What a great day to spend Mother’s Day.

A special Mother's Day SURPRISE.

MOTHERS DAY 2019

My daughter surprised me with booking a lunch at a nice restaurant we had not been too before.
It was for a 5 course meal. Fully paid for with a beautiful bottle of bubbly to go with it.
AMAZING.

1st course.
Salmon, cream cheese in a waffle cone.
This was served too cold and there was too much cream cheese.
If it was served at room temp with chilled salmon it would have been so much better.
I ate them though.

Course 2 - a seafood platter.
Mussels - yummy
Oyserts - both natural & kilpatrick - yummy
Salt n pepper quid- salty but cooked lovely
Baby Octopus - this was a first for me - I'm ok with them
Croquettes - hubby liked them
Meat balls? - very dry and needed a dipping sauce... didn't eat them
Duck liver pate & toasty bread - yummy.

Black Squid Ink pasta. Served with lobster.
Well they can keep it. This is the first time I have tried squid ink and I did not like it.
This dish was extremely salty and very unappealing.

I had stuffed chicken with mash. DELICIOUS.

Tonys meal was a beautiful steak and veggies. He loved it and ate it all.

I'm sitting here watching Master Chef as I type this. We had panacotta for dessert which was very creamy and yummy. It was nothing like the ones that epwere being made on master chef dessert week. BUT this was mine and I loved it.

Each mum was given this spider plant as a gift for their day.
It is a very basic plant which I owned many years ago. The reason being that it lived without any care. I needed a plant for my main bathroom so it will sit nicely in the hanging basket cone.
Thank you to my lovely daughter and son-in-law for a wonderful Mother's Day surprise.

Special mail from special people...

First of all I received this beautiful gift in the mail from my daughter for Mother's Day....
It was delivered to work and everyone was excited for me when I opened it.
A beautiful Bamboo chopping board burnt in with a special message.

I hope my daughter doesn't think I am going to use it..
My husband oiled it to bring out the grain.
It is beautiful. Thankyou to my daughter and her partner...
Luv you both....

Another parcel that arrived for me was more baby beanies for the hospital.
They are so cute and colourful.

Thank you Sue...

My FANTASTIC Mother's Day 2016, THANKYOU KRISTY

On Mother's Day this year our daughter surprised us by taking us out for lunch. All we knew was to dress nice, don't have a big breakfast, be ready by lunch time and we will be home for dinner...

Kristy picked us up and we left home by 11.30am. Into the city we go...
We ended up at a lovely German Beer house restaurant.
