A fiddling sort of day.

 I gave my friend a gift of scissors with beading to attach the cap and the handle. I had made a few at once and were always handy as a gift. Anyway, with being pulled in and out of the bag my friend broke hers. So a repair was needed.

Got them all undone and laid out again.

Re threaded and finished. Lovely job.

Next was to work on a little bit more of my Fairy Godmother for our challenge. Now to be handed in at our Xmas dinner. If that will go ahead. As we are always in and out of snap lockdowns.

My work gave everyone a gift for saying Thankyou and working together during all this covid pandemic. It has been hard for everyone and they wanted to cheer us up a bit.

So here is a lovely chocolate package.

Sweet Blue Wren coffee cup. (We had a few designs to choose from) Thos was my favourite. There were chocolates, popcorn, hot chocolate melts and marshmallows too.

A wonderful surprise and a little bit of knitting.

 I turned up at my quilt group and lovely Colleen gave me 2 bags of wonderful surprises filled with 50 cute little pouches/boxes. She said I could use them any way I like....

THANK YOU COLLEEN. I am so appreciative of your generosity. I will put them to good use.

Some times you need a break from sewing. I decided to do a little bit of knitting...

We are having a trade table at the end of the year at our QUILTS IN THE GARDEN day. I thought I’d teach my friend how to make them and try our luck.

First we start with threading a few hundred beads on to the cotton.

Then we knit them

And we knit some more

And hopefully we can get a few of these made

Another USA swap.... Xmas Stockings & Beaded Knitted Scissor Keeps.

I just can't help myself.. I joined another swap. Anyone that signed up sews 6 blocks of 2 different designs of blocks that get sewn into a stocking block which measures 12" finished. I had to send 5 of each block to Candis in the USA. She will collate all the blocks and forward me 10 blocks to give me a total 12 to make up into a quilt anyway I like.

I know mine won't be here before Xmas but it will be exciting when I get them. I have been making some last minute gifts. They are knitted and use approx. 280 seed beads threaded on to the thread first. Here are my cute little beaded handbag scissor keeps. Scissor keeps are designed to be heavier than the scissors so that if/when you drop them the keep hits the ground first and not the point of your scissors.

The beads glisten and I think they are a great little gift. Easy enough to mail as well.

Loose change counted for Vals piggy bank challenge

Last year I linked up with Val for her PIGGY BANK challenge. Collect your change and see what you get in a year. It adds up more than you think.

We have only been putting in change when we remember. Not very often but it still adds up.

My hubby enjoyed sitting down to count it.

Total of $71.10.   Not bad at all.

I have also decided to spend it on those small scissors with a cap. I'll buy about 10-15 of them. Then I'll join the caps to the scissors, so they don't get lost, with a bead string.

Hopefully I can then sell some at our quilt show in September.
