A quick post

It was great to see the email come through from Chooky for an evening zoom for the Scrub Stitchin gals.

I had a newly quilted quilt sitting ready for hand sewing the binding down. I got my washing on, leftover dinner reheated and the heater on. On to zoom to stitch and chat away. It was a small group but great conversation. I got 2 sides sewn down.

Chooky has a new logo for the zoom girls called CHOOKSHED STITCHERS. here

It was also FNSI with Wendy. I have linked up here

Continuous or NOT Bias binding

I try to make this continuous binding every so often. Always get confused. So here I go again.

Got my square of fabric cut diagonal. Repositioned and the first stitching line ready to go.

Look at my messy work space.
Me working hard trying to work out which pen works best. I've tried a frixion pen, pencil and now I'm using a chalk wheel. Good choice.

I found using these chalks worked really well. Easy to draw against a ruler.

Folded to match the lines ready to stitch.

Stitched, lines drawn, folded..... NOW.....

All set and ready to cut. Oops, I think I made a mistake...

Well I ended up with heaps of circles of binding. Not continuous like I hoped. Oh well, better luck next time. At least these still could be used. They were just the perfect length for the bibs...

MY HONOUR quilt is finished

I have spent a great deal of time finishing this quilt.

I have my sick grandson, NICHOLAS,  here for a few days and he was being a great helper.
Getting some fresh air before more medicine and a nap.
He always wants to help so here he is showing off the POPPY backing.  Very suitable for this ANZAC honour quilt. Read more about the story of this quilt by clicking on the tab "HONOUR QUILT 2014" at the top of the page.

I have quilted starting in the centre with a star and working my way out. Boy, did it take ages. I think it was worth it though. I am happy with the finish.

I'm off to the Kilmore Quilters tonight to show it off.

Now to link up with NTT over at

Another quilt binding done

I have had this quilt top sitting around for ages. A good friend of mine made me some tops and I quilted some of her quilts in return. I thought that it is about time to finish some off so I got it quilted and have just finished the binding. One for the cupboard as a spare gift.
Thanks Sue.
It is a great style and print for a guy.
