My weekend at Phillip Island

I had a great time over the Mother's Day weekend at Phillip Island. The Patches group treated us well at The Island... There was about 130 women in attendance and all the classes were interesting and went well.
I spent up with bargains at the shops, ate well and sewed into the wee hours of the night...
I caught up with Kerryn from Christmas Creations...

We all know she doesn't like her photo taken. No Kerryn I won't show all the photos and embarrass  you.
Sorry Kerryn.  This will be the only one though.....

I also caught up with a lovely Mother daughter team, Margaret & Melanie, from the Yarra Valley. I hope to see more of them over the next year. I first met these lovely ladies last year and have been keeping in touch over Pineterst with Melanie. It was great to catch up with them....

My great tutor was Maureen Miller.

Her class was the Compass Rose table runner.

This is my progress so far.

This is where I got up to on Monday at my next sewing day..

Maureen did a fantastic job being our tutor with this class and I have put down for her leaf class next year.

This is my second choice for next years classes. A lovely appliqué quilt...

I can't wait to go to the Island next year. Hope I get in...

This time I am linking up with Pink Doxies Pet Project

My little trip away.

My friend and I had a few great days away in Adelaide. We went over to see the PARIS ICON fashion exhibition. So while we were there we thought we would catch up,with some other friends.
Last year in Cheryll's SANTA Sack swap I was partnered up with Mel from HERE at PINNYLEA CREATIONS. We have being getting to know each other over the past 7 months. I am sure I have asked her more than once quite a few things. I do seem to forget easily. When I new I was going to Adelaide I emailed Mel to see if she wanted to meet.  Of course she said yes. So meet we did.
I am sure that we will meet again. Hopefully Mel will make it over to Melbourne soon.
Until then we will be following each other in Blogland. Thanks Mel.

We had fun just talking, eating and shopping. Mel wasn't really familiar with the city but we had a great time. Especially after I had a large coffee. After spending a few hours together we went our seperate ways. My friend and I enjoyed the Exhibition. We walked so much and we passed this Haigs store so often we just had to stop and buy something. Then we met up with a group of friends and enjoyed a nice dinner at LaTrattoria. A very nice restaurant.

Our hotel was The PLAYFORD and did we enjoy it.
Look at the way we relaxed when we returned home from dinner.

The following day we walked, shopped and ate all over again.
Here is the stunning Adelaide Arcade. What a lovely selection of specialty shops.
We enjoyed a lovely Japanese lunch here.

Then for dinner we went to Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant.
It was just lovely. A very nice way to finish our stay before a taxi back to the airport.

SANTA SACK SWAP OPENING TIME

Its time to open my SANTA Sack
Mine was from MEL @ http://pinnylea.blogspot.com.au

WOW
I was so looking forward to opening these gifts. It was exciting as I had no idea what was in there...
When you get gifts from family members sometimes you have an idea what it could be. This was so different. But how exciting........
Look at what I got....
There was a lovely bag, a sewing bag for a project with lots of pockets, an apron, pin cushion and thread catcher, pins, needles, sewing caddy, quilt labels, jewellery roll, handmade earrings, stitchery hanging decoration, special herbs spoon markers for my garden and of course my SANTA BAG. Which I'll be using in the future....

All the pins, needles and accessories

Look at theses flattened spoons. Aren't they great.. They are for the veggie garden. Posts for what is planted there. I love them

A cute little stitchery hanging

A jewellery roll. Somewhere to put my jewellery when I travel.
There is also a pair of earrings that Mel has made. So cute....
Once again THANKYOU Mel for my special gifts.
I do hope you had a special fun filled XMAS with so much love...

This swap was so much fun.
Thanks to Cheryll for organising this swap.

Cheryll does organise so many swaps so check in on her and join in. They are so much fun....

MY SANTA SACK IS IN THE POST.....

Back in June/July I signed up to be part of a SANTA Sack Swap.
http://santasackswap.blogspot.com.au
We were assigned a partner then had to go about making 5 handmade gifts and a stocking/sack or tote to put the gifts in. These had to be done and posted by 25th November and not to be opened until XMAS day.
How hard was that. Having lots of presents sitting around for all that time.......
Anyway, this is what I sent my partner, Mel.
Here they all are ready to put in the Sack and post......

They are on their way to Mel in South Australia.......
Now remember Mel
NO PEEKING, SHAKING, RATTLING, SQUEEZING.
Think you can hold out.....
Hahaha, enjoy.
