Mini Christmas Wall Hanging is complete

Yes, I have finished the wall hanging and it’s stockings,

They are very cute. After cutting the coat hanger and struggling to put it in the hanging sleeve, as I made it a bit to small, it now looks curved.

I may have to change the hanger.

The felt stockings look so cute and I now have a UFO out of the cupboard, finished and ready for next Christmas.

Christmas mini slow stitching

I have gone back to some slow stitching on my Xmas mini.

Slow Stitching Sunday

Its hanging sleeve is getting sewn then binding time.

The coat hanger was cut down to use.

It looks a bit wonky in the photo but it really isn’t that bad. The hanger has made it look a bit funny.

I just need to finish the stockings now.

Mini Christmas Wallhanging

I have started working on an old UFO. My Christmas Mini.

The pieces had all been embroidered and waiting to be joined together.

All pieces are now trimmed and ready for joining

This wall hanging is only small so I thought it was a good chance to piece it together doing QAYG. It made the process a bit quicker.

This is what it will look like when done. I still have to make the stockings and hand stitch the binding down.

A SAD WEEK, a quilting SAL & a HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Unfortunately last week my FIL passed away. Only 2 weeks after finding out he was ill again.
He was moved into palliative care in a home days before his passing. Luckily my MIL was moved into a room into the home too. At least now she won't be alone. She will have people to talk to, no cooking or cleaning to do and hopefully will go on some outings and participate in activities.
We know she will be looked after.
It is a 10-11 hour drive to see her but we will do it from time to time.
So,, GOOD BYE DAD.

Now for some happier news.

I cut up all these pieces and put them in an envelope for my friends birthday.
I am sharing a SAL with our group and thought she would like to join in.
When I was cutting mine out I did hers as well.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAXINE.
Have fun..

Here is the link if you want to SAL too. I made this last year and thought it was so cute. I am making another one this year. Sarah has some wonderful designs so go and take a look.
A CHRISTMAS MINI.

Then on Saturday...

We made it through the night ok. Remembering last year we had the worst thunder, lightning and hail storm in years. Lost power, flooded, trees down and hail damage to my car. So this year we were doing well.
I sat down and started work on my Xmas mini that I have permission to teach from SARAH over at
http://alittlehappyplace.blogspot.com.au/2016/09/a-little-happy-sew-along-merry.html
So this is where I am at. It is only small but very very cute.. And so super easy. I still have to make the stockings.

If you are a beginner it is a great way to make something small with appliqué, stitchery and piecing. There is also felt work and embellishing with buttons.

It's altogether and only needs buttons.

I didn't have any buttons with me but I have since added them and now it is finished for show and tell at our group and get the instructions in print..

Make sure you go on over to have a look at Sarah's blog. She does some amazing work..

A slow end to a busy weekend...

I have had a busy weekend with friends, my quilt group, sewing and making other items for a special night. All will be revealed over the next week or two...

For today's sow n tell is for Slow Sunday Stitching. A perfect way to finish off the weekend and relax white the roast is cooking. I'm starting here.
I've got to here.

Now starting the pudding

I am doing a SAL with my quilt group next year and SARAH is letting me share her pattern. It is a beautiful mini Xmas wallhanging. I was going to do it last year but that just didn't happen. I am making my sample to show at the group. Have a look at Sarah's blog and maybe you could stitch along too.

So I am linking up with Kathy for slow stitching Sunday too..

A gift for a friend

I needed to make a special gift for a friend.. So I put together this cute wall hanging...
I just love the colours...
I used it as a practice for the new Westalee quilting rulers.. I used a small clam shell design.,I am very happy with how it has turned out...

I love the jar of buttons. There is still something to stitch on it but I will not be showing that as it might give the gift away....

I'll be sharing my Friday night with a blogging friend so I'm sure there will be some stitching of some sort.
So go have a look, sign up and stitch along with us all
I am really looking forward to my weekend adventure.

Look out for the posts...

Another XMAS lunch, blocks completed and FNSI

Here we are so close to Christmas and everyone is celebrating. My Monday group had a little lunch.
We can always put on a great spread of food.

Then some presents were handed out... Rhonda made the best stitchery mini quilt wall hanging for us all. They were amazing.
Rhonda, the maker

Barb with Kris Kringle

Jill with Reindeer

Joy with Holly Berries

And me with Love
Aren't they just so cute
Here is the pattern. It was one that can get so many uses..

Now that I am at home I have finished and decided which blocks I will swap and keep for the DOD row by row mystery. Here are the completed spinning pinwheels...

And I have received last months Staem that Seam block from France's. Isn't it lovely. I didn't make this style so it was nice to get a different design. Thanks Frances.

After all that, I am looking forward to this weeks FNSI with WENDY from SUGARLANE Quilts.
