FNWF, WIP be gone and some slow crochet....

Last night I joined in with FNWF.

I have finally finished a babies knitted set. Sewed on the ribbon and it's done...

So I have a WIP be gone to show.

I have also been working on this crochet babies shawl. It is growing.
Tomorrow will be a slow Sunday and hopefully I will get the few rounds done that I need to get me up to the lacy edge.
This is where I pulled it out of the cupboard
The start of it

And where I am up to now.

This is my January UFO project that is on my list

Ok... Let's go back a while
I sent a parcel to Arlette in Costa Rica back in early October.
Yep $21 to post. It took ages to arrive.... Well guess what.
It NEVER arrived at Arlettes.
It came back to me this week.
The address is correct. It's post marked September from there. Then it decided to come home to me.
Arlette is following up why.

Thimble swap

after participating in my last thimble swap, which was exciting, Arlette contacted me and asked if I wanted to swap with her. It is very hard for me to find thimbles but I said yes. It took nearly 2 months to find some thimbles.
I went on a holiday to Yarrawonga/Mulwala, 3 hours from home. and found one...
Then hubby and I did a quick shopping trip to Mildura, 5 hours away, and found another.
There definitely wasn't any near where I lived. Every time I went out I stopped in to the information centres. No luck...
My daughter went into Melbourne for a job interview. She went shopping for me during her lunch break and had some fun. There were quite a few gift shops. It was my lucky day.. She found some with Melbourne on them....
So I could put a parcel together for Arlette. I am happy with what I sent. Arlette wanted more but my parcel was sent....
I also added a visitors book to Mildura, a little boxy coin purse and I put in a knitted dishcloth.
I hope Arlette is happy with this parcel.
It is being sent to Costa Rica...

Thimble swap and gifts....

I received my THIMBLE in the mail from Sheryll from SPAIN.
SHERYLL sent me a lovely gift box filled with goodies..
What's in the box??????
A great stack of 2 1/2" squares cut from her stash of beautiful fabrics. These I will use in my bow tie quilt. Then there was a tiny Hexies purse. I think they are about a half inch size. Great to store my thimble I use to sew with. A beautiful stitched pin cushion/scissor keep. A button storage tin.. Some stitching thread in colours I will use for a Xmas project. A cute magnet to go on my workroom wall with my others that I have collected when on holidays...
And of course... MY GORGEOUS THIMBLE.... From GIJON, Spain.

 A great selection of goodies

 And of course the THIMBLE.

Look at my magnets .. They are starting to multiply
