Some simple sewing from stash...

I was looking through my kids fabric tubs and came across this panel. It makes a kids cloth book. HOW CUTE
A book panel to sew.

So after it sitting on my table for a few weeks I decided to get in and sew it...

Little girl knitting.

With all the boy knitting I have been doing I thought I should do some girly things. So I dug into the yarn box and this is what I pulled out... I have made a beautiful jumper and beanie. It might go to our granddaughter for next winter...

Nicholas' knitting

Remember a while ago I started out with this odd yarn.
What can I do with this mess

I started knitting this....
I started with this design

I finished the jumper

and made some beanies as well.
Beanies with the leftovers
It's amazing what you can make with scraps. I wonder which beanie Nicholas will like best...

Another jumper being made.....

Here is what yarns I have pulled out of the box. I have started a jumper for grandson Nicholas. I like all the blues together and I have more than enough to get something done...
The scraps of odd yarn
This is what I have done so far. I had made this design for both my daughter and son when they were little. So that was about 25 years ago. I just love the pattern and you can use up small amounts of yarn. It's just getting the right size. When I have measured up Nick and got the length I want I will start on the sleeves. This way you use the colours as you have them. If you run out after one stripe you can just put in another colour on the second repeat round...

Xavier's knitted jumper....

I originally was going to make this jumper for Nicholas. Then I realised I didn't have enough yarn for  his size so the next best thing was to make it for Xavier. There was enough for a beanie too. More leftovers were to be used up. Let's hope the size is ok..
Xavier's jumper...

After finishing Xavier's jumper I made 2 more knitted squares for Liz. Liz passes them on to an organisation who puts them together for charity blankets.

Here is the blanket I keep adding to when I have leftover yarn from other projects. This will be for a charity somewhere when it is done.

FNSI, SS and a knitted finish

I have finished sewing up the last jumper for my SIL. It was a challenge. I ran out of the brown and had trouble finding something to match. There were lots of moth holes that needed mending. But it is done now and I hope that it will be ok. Even if it's only worn around the home...
The jumper is finished

My lovely friend Sue knew that I had finished the knitting pile and couldn't get out to my workroom so she drew up some Splendid Sampler blocks for me to work on. How sweet is she.
She came for a quick visit to drop them off.
Guess what I'll be working on for FNSI....
Thanks Sue they are lovely....

I like these finishes....

First up is the jumper I showed earlierr in the week. I managed to spread the wool enough to get it finished. It looks good too.
Size 26"

I went to work on my X stitches on Friday night and finished the 3 of them. Boy I get into a mess when I use glue...

More of mums crochet & my knitting

Tonight is FNSI with Wendy. http://sugarlane-designs.com/2015/06/fnsi-sign-ups-for-june.html

I was at my LQG all day sit n sew... 10 to 10. I haven't take any photos of what I was working on but there was about 20 of us sewing away. Hopefully over the weekend I'll get some photos.

In the meantime I have been doing some wool work. Knitting and crocheting..

Mum had a bag full of crochet granny squares made. They are in very soft and pretty colours. This is the design I have laid them out in. I will join them by crochet and then crochet a border.

I also made my eldest grandson, Nicholas, a beautiful knitted jumper. It is in an old pattern. FISHERMANS RIB. The yarn is thicker than 14 ply, a real chunky one, so it hasn't taken me long to make.

Another finish for OPAM..
