after finishing off a lot of mums crafts there are still a few longer projects to do.
I found this crochet blanket started and I have never seen this pattern before. So I had to unpick some rows to work out the design.
They look like rows of flowers in a vase. It is very pretty.
I have lots of different colours for the flowers so I will just keep working until I run out of the pink or free or it is a good size to stop...
It will take me a while to finish. This will be a job to pick up in between other projects.

Just look at these cuties
My mum was always knitting for someone or making gifts for different groups. These didn't get finished but they are now....
This beautiful matinee jacket and booties is so sweet. All I dad to do was to knit one band, sew on the buttons and thread the ribbon....how cute.
Then there were there knitted coat hanger covers. They were already knitted so a quick sew up and they were done...mercy pretty...
Then I found something in the bottom of my cupboard that wasn't finished. It is now... A gift for someone....

Wow what a day
My husband and I sat down and worked together in the lounge room. What we were doing, it took forever, was to sort out my mums knitting needles....
This is what we started with....
What a mess.
But after a few hours this is what we got.
A lot went in the bin, a lot didn't have partners but there were a lot that matched....
After getting 2 complete sets for myself and a few spare of different lengths this is what was left....

WOW.....
Now I will be making up quilted rolls to put them into sets. I will then be giving them to the community centre where mum was helping out. She was on the committee and also teaching a group to knit. I'm sure they will appreciate it....
That will be another post though..

More of mums finishes
well, I have had the best few days at home sorting out and finishing off mums crafts. She has done the most beautiful knitting. Some just needed sewing up, others needed buttons and some needed a little more but I am getting there..
These are premis babies beanies. 2 were already knitted and the 3rd was started. I finished the knitting and sewed it up. They are so cute and tiny. I will have to find out where mum wanted these to go. I'm sure they will be loved by some one...
I'm not sure if this outfit is for a premie baby or a dolls outfit but it is so cute. All I had to do was add buttons. So easy. They were in the bag with it....
Look at this sweet jacket and beret style hat. It is so cute. I just need to add buttons...
This coffee pot warmer just needs sewing up. Who uses these now. I'm not sure what to do with this or who to pass it on to but maybe some of mums friends will know.
I have some more to work on so they will be another post.

More Beanies
I have been knitting up a storm with more BEANIES for the homeless. All my mums friends are back from holidays, family tragedies, quiet time and are meeting up. One of them donates to a charity so I am hoping she can use these... I have been knitting with some odd balls of yarn from mums stash. She would be so happy I am spreading them out to different organisations....
I have had fun making them. They don't take much thinking and not much yarn either....

My mums crochet finish
I have been working on my mums left over projects and have got this blanket finished....
Now I have to sort out all these blankets and give them to the ones that I think need, want and deserve them.... It will take time.
It has worked out to be a great blanket.... This went to my Sister In Law...
Yes she loves it

More of mums crochet & my knitting
Tonight is FNSI with Wendy. http://sugarlane-designs.com/2015/06/fnsi-sign-ups-for-june.html
I was at my LQG all day sit n sew... 10 to 10. I haven't take any photos of what I was working on but there was about 20 of us sewing away. Hopefully over the weekend I'll get some photos.
In the meantime I have been doing some wool work. Knitting and crocheting..
Mum had a bag full of crochet granny squares made. They are in very soft and pretty colours. This is the design I have laid them out in. I will join them by crochet and then crochet a border.
I also made my eldest grandson, Nicholas, a beautiful knitted jumper. It is in an old pattern. FISHERMANS RIB. The yarn is thicker than 14 ply, a real chunky one, so it hasn't taken me long to make.
Another finish for OPAM..

And then we have a lovely scarf made with KAFFE FASSET yarn.
Won't the girls just love this.
Thank you Marj and Glenys.

My mums finishes...
As you all know I have been working with my mums WIPs....
I am planning on finishing them to pass onto other members of the family. I'm not sure if I will do this all at once or a bit at a time. I will talk to mums husband and see how he feels about it.
Here is my first finish for mum and my 2nd for the month.
I think I know who this will be passed on to but everyone will have to wait and see.
Mum was a very good crafts person and a very giving one too.
We made these GOLLIWOG's (I know, politically incorrect, but that's how I grew up knowing them) years ago and mum has made lots more than me. We did them in boys & girls, lawn bowlers and footy players. These were our own designs and mum continually made them. One after the other. The last one she was working on was a HAWTHORN player for a friend. Of course it had to be finished. I'm sure it will be appreciated and never lost....
Here it is. YES I FINISHED IT.
Then there were these cute little BANANAS IN PYJAMAS slippers.
These were not for any one in particular so they will go in the pile we have yet to decide which organisation to send them too. Maybe the hospital shop would be nice.
So I am adding this to my OPAMs

A little birthday gift and a new start
I went to my local quilt group KILMORE QUILTERS meeting in March. We had a great catch up because I was away for the Feb one. Because it was my birthday in March I could choose a fat quarter. Then my door ticket was pulled out so got another fat quarter. Here they are.
PICKING UP THE PIECES & START AGAIN
I would like to thank everyone for all your support over the hard month that I have just had.
I hope to return to my sewing and blogging like I have been in the past.
I am trying to catch up on all that I did and received over the past few weeks.
I have brought home 2 carloads of mums crafts. Some only just started. I hope to work my way through them and pass some projects on to the members of the family. Mum was a great knitter, crocheter and sewer. Wow, I thought I had a big stash. We haven't even scratched the top of mums three rooms of supplies. If mum could find a hole there was something put in it.
So here is my first start. A crochet blanket for a great grandson...
I have worked on this all weekend and managed to sit on Sunday to nearly finish it. So I'm joining in with everyone over at. http://kathysquilts.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/slow-sunday-stitching-practice.html
