Loose change counted for Vals piggy bank challenge

Last year I linked up with Val for her PIGGY BANK challenge. Collect your change and see what you get in a year. It adds up more than you think.

We have only been putting in change when we remember. Not very often but it still adds up.

My hubby enjoyed sitting down to count it.

Total of $71.10.   Not bad at all.

I have also decided to spend it on those small scissors with a cap. I'll buy about 10-15 of them. Then I'll join the caps to the scissors, so they don't get lost, with a bead string.

Hopefully I can then sell some at our quilt show in September.

PIGGY BANK CHALLENGE

I took part in Vals Piggy Bank Challenge. Saving some change through the year.

They pot I used last year was not big enough. I did manage to collect $144.10..

So I am doing it again this year. YES IM SIGNING UP.

With the money I saved this is what I have bought..

A new money box to start saving more.

I bought 2 metres of this lovely grey fabric to go in my next quilt.

And about 20 skeins of stranded thread. I have a few projects in mind.

Look at this panel. How cute is it. It has the centre, borders and a stuffed toy. All you need to buy is the border & backing fabric. That's easier said and done. I can't find anything in a matching green.

I'll keep looking.

How much can I save this time..

4th & 5th Annual Piggy Bank Savings challenge...

After such a hard year understandably I did not save many coins at all. 

I linked up last year with Val and tried to save but we kept dipping into the jar.

Not to worry this is what I ended up with.

A whole total of $43.20.

I'm sure it will buy me some little treat..

Look at these damaged coins. And the special 5c piece with a kangaroo on it.

It does say on the coin... fifty years 2016.

So that means celebrating 50 years of decimal currency in Australia.

A Quilt Book from Japan.

A friend of mine recently had a holiday in Japan.
She bought this book back for me to look at. There are some amazing quilts in there. They were the students work....

PIGGY BANK SAVINGS CHALLENGE

I took part in a savings challenge with Val.. Unfortunately I didn't manage to save much over the past year... I had a grand total of $29.85 in coins and $30 in notes. That's pretty sad. I actually forgot about it.

I think this time I will have to put my money box in view and not hidden.
