MERRY CHRISTMAS

 Merry Christmas to you.

Our plans have changed for this Christmas season. We had our family Christmas dinner with out daughter and grandchildren on Friday night. It was a good time. We were supposed to go to my brothers and camp for a few days but the SIL came down with covid so we have stayed home. I now have extra sewing time. I cleaned my sewing room, which took the day. Today I am planning the next quilt. More about that later.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL..... Reindeer Chupa Chups

WELL XMAS DAY IS OVER AND I AM EXHAUSTED.

I hope eveyone had a happy and safe Christmas day.

We have had family with us for the week so this means a full house. We also have been having very high temperatures. Around the high 30's and even into the 40's which makes it very tiring.

Every year I make little gifts to hand out to all my work colleagues. There are about 45 in our building so I need something quick and easy. This year I decided to make reindeer heads with chupa chup noses. I printed off many patterns and just kept cutting. I had enough for 66. This means other visitors at home could have one.
A month later my thumb is still numb from the cutting but they are very cute...

All the heads are cut out and ready to be assembled...
Look at this cute little fella....
Here are all 66 lined up ready to hop off.

Getting ready for Xmas...

I know these are a little late but the festive season has been busy.....
First up.. I received this sweet decoration from Maria.
Thanks Maria....

Then my friend made these cute reindeers..

I finally got around to setting up my Christmas tree and wrapping presents just in time before the
daughter and grandsons arrived...

Then we got on to making the Xmas punch....

And the fun begins.

Next thing we know it's Christmas morning and it's time to open the presents...

Oh boy. Time goes so fast...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL.... clue 5 is done and dusted....

I'm tucked away sewing with my air conditioner running and watching the last QUILT CAM. I'm in heaven....
Bonnie posted clue 5 early so us down here in Oz made a quick start on the many half square triangles needed.
How easy is this... http://quiltville.blogspot.com.au/2016/12/surprise-en-provence-part-5.html
I always try to do this method when I have a lot to do.
http://chezstitches.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/the-magic-8-revisited.html This is an easy tutorial to follow.
I did make the odd one or two blocks from smaller scraps for a little bit of extra colours but they were all done in no time. All done before Xmas day. Now to wait for the next clue.
The easy 8 way...

All half square triangles complete

Yes I'm a sliver trimmer

So with that I must say to everyone

HAVE A VERY HAPPY AND SAFE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.
ENJOY YOURSELF AND MAKE THE MOST OF THE FESTIVE SEASON WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS

SEWING FOR SYDNEY.....

After the horrible tragedy in Sydney last week there is a rally going on for HASH TAG blocks.
MOLLIE SPARKLES from
tells you all about it.
He is getting blocks from all over the world to put together some quilts for the children & families most affected by this event. It is so disturbing that this has happened in our own back yards.
If you want to help out have a look at the link above.

I have made these blocks.

I did all of them during one movie. Not a lot of time to take out of your day to go to a good cause.
MINE ARE IN THE POST..
He is hoping for 1080 and in only a week has received over half of them.
Well done to the quilting world.

After the above post it is very hard to be cheerful but I'm sure everyone is still thinking of the families.

I WISH EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY AND SAFE FESTIVE SEASON.
PLEASE ENJOY THE COMPANY OF WHO YOU SPEND THE DAY WITH AND TREASURE EVERY MOMENT YOU HAVE WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
