Tying teabag strings for scarves.

I received another parcel in the mail from Cindy. Thankyou so much. Wish I knew who you were. Cindy sent a whole bag of strings with tags removed.

I have been busy tying teabag strings ready to make a few more scarves.

It takes me about a week to tie enough strings to make a ball that weighs 45grams.

Here I have 2  balls tied and rolled.

This is enough for 2 scarves. Using 4.5mm (size 7) needles 40 sts and about 2metres (6’6” long)

This is how I store them ready for knitting. Then I gift the scarf in the washing bag.

Of all the things you share with us, this one intrigues me the most. It's a help for sure that people send you their strings, I don't know I drink THAT much tea (probably do) but the conversation that those scarves must invite would be worth the effort. Wow.

Well that will keep you busy. That reminds me, I have a few here... only a few, I might collect for another year or two. LOL

I am with Denise on this Jo ... this fascinates me so much. I must google this next year as I would love to read more about it. I can imagine wearing a scarf that was made from teabag strings - I don't think anyone would believe me!!! Yours is amazing!

Aha, another one & can't believe the patience you have. Have a great Christmas, stay cool, take care & hugs. Only 16deg here at the moment, windy & wet. Where is summer?

Another job I would say "pass" to. Every time I raid T bag strings people ask "why??" and I show them photos of your scarves or your friends teddy bears....OMGosh is the usual reaction.
