After finishing the latest Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt.. LUPINE and LAUGHTER it sat in the bag for a while. I booked in to our local quilt shop Lesley Mays to quilt it. They hire out the quilt frame and you can quilt it yourself.
They load it for you, set it up, fill the bobbins, stitch the ends and you’re ready to go.

That. Quilt. Is. Beautiful!!
Well done! And you don't seem at all intimidated by that big quilting machine!
How wonderful it looks Jo. Gosh well done on using that big machine - I would be not so confident but what a great idea that they will hire it out to you to do your own quilting.
It's stunning Jo, well done! Such a great idea for the shop to hire out their quilting machine and set it all up for you as well.
Absolutely beautiful!! Love a good Baptist Fan design--you did very well in the piecing, and the quilting. It has got to feel good to be so near the finish line!
How cool that the shop does that - I think you chose the perfect design - your quilt looks amazing!!
Now that is a great idea! The quilting looks beautiful Jo. xx
Beautiful quilt and the quilting pattern worked well.
Hiring the quilting machine is a great idea.
The quilt hanging behind is one I made during Covid.
You did a beautiful job! Well done!
very pretty finish jo
What a great service! it looks gorgeous well done
That looks amazing Jo. Did you follow a pantograph design? Or programme a computer?
Wonderful Jo, great the shop hires out the machine. Great pattern for the quilt.
Ahh – what a beautiful quilt, I really like it. Lovely patterns and wonderful colors.
It's great that you can quilt your own sandwich at the quilt shop... that sounds exciting and is sure to be a lot of fun... on Wednesday I'm going to a handweaving shop and I get to try handweaving... well, it's not quilting, but thread is thread, isn't it? And what do we make with it? A piece of fabric.
I hope you have lots of fun with the binding... I'm also sewing the binding onto my quilt right now... by hand, of course...
Happy Sunday.
Best wishes from Viola
p.s. great quilt pattern, I like.
It's a beautiful quilt and your baptist fans are perfect for it.
For some reason I am unable to see the photos on your blog. Congratulations on quilting it yourself.
Oh my - what a great idea to be able to hire out a quilting machine and have them do all the irky bits! we now have one shop who lets you hire the machine . . but I dont think they go the extra!

What a wonderful opportunity to be able to use their machine.
That's a great service.
Lovely work with the baptist fan. Perfect for your quilt.
Fantastic, Jo! Hiring a long-arm is a terrific service - there should be more of it.
It looks fantastic. Baptist Fan is such a versatile pattern and really suits it. I can’t wait to see it for Show and Tell.
