Having fun crocheting

I am making this snuggle blanket with an elephants head.
I am using chenille yarn and crochet.
It looks a bit strange unfinished.

But now I have the arms, head and ears on it's looking better.

Even better with the eyes..

How cute has this turned out.

It is so soft and cuddly.

I must say that I didn't do it exactly as my yarn was much thicker than the pattern suggested. All I did was left a row out here and there, added some more and made it fit.

The girl I gave it to loved it so that's all that counts.

I'm happy too.

Eye Spy so many fun fabrics

I joined in with Vals EYE SPY block swap.

I have now received 200 * 4" squares. All with a different fun pattern on them.

It will be fun to put them all into a quilt.

Crochet basket

I have always wanted to make a basket with cord.
I have seen the ones with thread wrapped around cord and then zig-zagged together to make any shape you want. Then I came across this pattern. I had some old 8ply cotton that I wasn't sure how to use it up so I thought this basket would be a good idea.
I'm going to be going on a few drives so sitting in the car will be a bit tiring if I haven't got anything to do. I'm sure this will last me a while.
When I get some done I'll show the photos.
