Donations and Devils Marbles

I had a lovely friend visit me today and I passed on some beautiful quilts and knitted beanies for charity. Barb will pass them on to a couple of places. Just a couple named are KOGO & The Northern Hospital.

All my donations get passed on to depts and not just charity bins in parking lots. They all are cherished.

Thanks to Barb for passing the following on.

So today’s lots are…..

Lots of baby beanies made by Jenni have been passed on to the hospital.

Crochet blankets & jumpers made by me have been passed on to KOGO.

Quilts & receiving blankets made by Margaret have been passed on to St Kilda Mums and the Northern Hospital

Thanks for everyone’s donations for me to pass onto charities I support.

NOW MORE ON MY  TRIP

The Devil’s Marbles.

These are just amazing rock formations by the side of the road.

They are huge round rocks, stacked on top of one another…

Look at the red colour. Just amazing.
These remind me of the rock formations that were near where I used to live. Tooborac, Victoria, Australia

Holiday snaps and some sewing and a finish

Ok, here are a few holiday snaps. I didn’t really take many but I’ll show you some.

While driving along you see some beautiful views. Driving up the highway the morning we left Port Augusta we saw this amazing view. The clouds surrounding a table top mound. (I am not very good with names of things or the history). It was stunning.

My next photo was when we had a stop just over the border into the Northern Territory. Of course we did get a photo.

We had a big day of driving this day. Approx 700kms. It was a late day so we ended up having our overnight stay in a roadside stop bay. It was at the landmark for the Tropic of Capricorn. It was busy stop for travellers too.

It’s such a shame that there are people out there that want to destroy everything.

Now for my sewing.

I have been working on my Fairy Quilt Godmother but I can’t show the right side of  my work a sit is a challenge for our group. But I will show you a bit of progress

Then I worked on my motorbike quilt. It is finished and today I sewed on the label and hanging sleeve.

I am involved with an online group called Quilting Around the World. QATW.

We have going on an ugly fabric swap. I got sent an ugly 1/2 metre and I am to make a quilt with it measuring larger than 36*45”. It cannot just be a border but must be used in the main part of the quilt. I also had to send my partner a fabric I chose.

Here is what I received.

I have decided on a pattern and chosen the fabric I am putting with it.

I can’t show my progress as this is a challenge as well.

What have I been doing. I’m still here….

Hi everyone. I am here even though I haven’t posted.

I have travelled 7,000 kms in our bus from Mildura to Darwin and back over 3 weeks. Camping on roadsides, in caravan parks, free camping spots, spending time at my brothers and back home again.

We left home early on a Saturday and made a stop at a painted silo in Wirrabara

This is just amazing. I was travelling with my husband, brother & husband and wife friends. They had camp trailers and we had a converted bus named BASIL.

Okay, more about my trip later..

Tonight I have been preparing a new challenge project for our quilt group. We are to make a FAIRY QUILT GODMOTHER project.

https://www.paperpanache.com/get-your-fairy-quilt-godmother

This is my plan.

These are the fabrics chosen.

And now I am ready for a day of sewing. I have my fabric swatches pasted to my plan so I can follow them easily….. Hopefully…

This is such a fun project to work on as a challenge. It is also a mystery as you really don’t know what the finished project will look like.
Have a look at some of the other finished projects.

Everyone will be different.

Go and have a look at this site to see how much fun it is to choose a different project. If you print it out as per the instructions it will only measure 10” * 14”….. Mine is a bit smaller and there are others in the group that have done it much larger. We have to finish ours by September/October for our Quilts in the Garden display.
