Wow it’s nearly December. The start of Summer.

 Where did November go to.

I am now the President of our local quilt group. How did that happen?

A few committee members went to our storage shed to see what was there. There were quite a few bags and boxes of scrap and donated fabrics.

I brought them home and started sorting.

Well the tubs are now tidied up.

We are having a charity sewing night tomorrow night so I thought we could use some up. We found some sweet flannelette and some cute kids prints. So we have decided to cut them into 6.5” squares and sew them together again making little kids quilts.

My daughter and I had a fun night out at a painting class for a fundraiser. This has been rebooked a few times due to covid. Well it’s here.

Neither of us has painted before. So we booked for a bit of fun. We started on some platters and a glass of wine.

Chose our colours and started.

There was a group of 10 and we had so much fun.

I received this lovely tea towel in the mail from Maria - WA today. Thanks Maria, yours is in the mail too.

(I can’t show mine yet but I think it’s cute)

Look at the cute teapots

We had our grandsons for an overnight visit. It was fun. We ate a quick dinner

then played bowling on the Wii.

Then we had a lovely lunch supplied by our daughter and husband for my hubbies birthday. It was so good to finally catch up with lots of lockdowns due to covid

The only bit of sewing is a gift I have made for a friend. They are easy to put in the post.

Congratulations Madame President! That sure was a while heap of fabric to sort through, hope your charity sewing day goes well. I'm so impressed with your first effort at painting, you all did wonderfully well.

I have a feeling you will do very well as president, considering you jumped right in and started organizing bins right off the bat!
Your night out with your daughter looks like it was a lot of fun. I am impressed with your paintings.
I remember you sharing the luggage tags and key rings over Zoom. I think they are very clever.

Good luck being El Presidento. That was quite a task to sort the fabrics. It is a wonderful resource to make some charity quilts. You and your daughter are the budding artists. Having some bubbles and nibbles first probably loosens you up a little. Don’t you appreciate being able to be with family after all the lock downs. Cute tea towel.

So nice that you have a donation area for fabrics and suchlike. I remember when I was leader of our quilt guild. Fortunately I did not have to sort loads of fabrics like that. Beautiful paintings you created as well, fun times.

Lovely post from the new pres! You have already proven yourself going through all that fabric. Great ideas for it. Beautiful photos of your daughter and you ...what a neat thing to do together. All the food you showed looked so good too. I like your painting!

Funny how we seem to volunteer for things...what a task to sort all that fabric - good job!

I did one of those painting classes - it was fun - but I am no artist that is for sure....yours looks good.

Lovely tea towel swap!

Lovely tea pots on the tea towels!
You painted beautifully, and it looks like so much fun!

Oh for the sorting - what a major project that must have been!

You and your kitchen towels...so fun!
The group painting party looks like a blast. I am pretty sure mine wouldn't work out so good, but it still looks fun.

YOu must have spent a ton of time organizing all that donated fabric. Now it will be more exciting to get sewing on it at your guild.
