Firstly, I have opened today’s advent envelope and it’s a cute monogram cross stitch.
I will enjoy making this one.
Next. Since losing our son 12 years ago I haven’t really got into the Christmas decorating. Some years I didn’t even put the tree up. The same was happening this year with us not knowing where we will be.
Enough of that. I thought the kids are coming for Christmas lunch now Tony is home so that means I’ll put up the small tree, used to be my mums, and a few decorations. All my others are out in the shed and I am not going out to sort that out. So here is my tree to celebrate having Tony home to enjoy Christmas with his family.
When we were at the Royal Melbourne Hospital last week there were Christmas trade tables. The staff that make crafts outside of their hospital jobs are allowed to have a stand a few times a year. There was one stand I really loved. She made her own felt and stitches up ornaments to sell. She had made this candy/bauble garland. I treated myself. I did buy a few things for gifts but did not think to take a photo.
The felted balls are so cute.
Happy Christmas Eve

Sometimes you can do only so much and then punt.
We always get a real tree and this year we got one that was particularly pretty. But after exactly one week it was completely dead, dried out, brittle, needles curled dead. We were afraid of it but kept it up. Once the kids left on Sunday Bruce started dragging the boxes up so we could take it down....before Christmas. It was so dead dry when you stepped on a needle it sounded like stepping on potato chips.
Your small decorations look lovely. Enjoy your Christmas Day with your family.
I love the look of that little coaster. Nice to have a tree if only small. I do hope that you had a lovely day with family. xx
Merry Christmas! In response to your comment about the TABLE SCRAPS Challenge link on my blog, the party goes live on Friday.
It looks lovely Jo. So glad that you have something to celebrate.
Christmas can be a tough time for some, but as Janice says you have Tony home to celebrate. I've only started putting up lots of decorations since grandchildren have been around.
A great idea for the staff to be able to sell theor crafts.
Hope you had a great Christmas Day.
My goodness time flies past us!! So good Tony is home so you can celebrate together with your family. The bauble/garland is lovely.
No tree here either with all our lot living interstate now or UK (hubby's family) so understand. Hope all goes well with Tony and 2025 is so much better for you. Take care & hugs from a very hot Gippsland.
