I wanted a different baby gift than I usually do. This was going to a family I had already made a quilt for.
I had seen this idea on a blog somewhere (sorry, can’t remember where) and thought it was a great idea.
Print out the letters and trace on to fabric.
I tried to find fabric that matched each letter. This was a bit tricky and my room was a mess.
Layer with wadding and a backing.
Stitch
And cut out. Then you have a whole alphabet, with some extras, so they can spell out some simple words.
This is the whole gift that has been posted to the new baby.
I also made a cute lined bag, with alphabet fabric, for the letters to be stored in.

That has rounded out a really nice gift. The alphabet with appropriate fabric will be a great learning tool.

The teddy rug worked out well.
What a great idea - and a lovely gift. xx
