I have started a new mystery. I like making Bonnie Hunters quilts. They use up scraps, have lots of small pieces and look beautiful. If I saw the quilt design first I would not make the quilt. I like the mystery idea.
So first up was to make a heap of 3 coloured hourglass blocks. I followed this tutorial instead of cutting lots of triangles.
Here are some sewn and ready to iron then trim.
They are all ironed and trimmed.
Now ready for clue 2.
If you want to join in now click on the link below. Bonnie leaves the instructions up for a short time . Around the end of January 2026 all instructions will be removed and the pattern will need to be bought.

I’ll enjoy watching make the mystery Jo.
Great way to make the 3 way colour blocks.
Your first step blocks are lovely.
They looks beautiful Jo - I love the colours & fabrics you are using. xx
I know these Bonnie Hunter mystery quilts are very popular. I started one some years ago, soon gave up and finally used all the fabrics pieces on other projects. Guess I'm not a mystery quilt person, I like to know what it looks like before I start a project.
I love a good mystery quilt ... pretty fabrics.
Looking good so far! I'm just collecting the clues at this stage.
You have made a great start Jo - looks like it is going to be a colourful quilt! xx
You are off to a good start.
I was wondering if you were going to join in this year. Thanks for sharing your method. I had not seen that one before and really like it. There are some clever people to come up with all these ideas.
I love the idea of mystery quilts...not for me at the moment though
