Knitting socks

So I have never knitted socks before. I wanted to try. I couldn’t get anything in spotlight at this time of year. I was passing through Bendigo so decided to stop at the woollen mills. We lived an hour away for 18 years but never visited it. I bought a ball of wool and needles.

This is a sample of the colour of the yarn.

I was told I can get a free pattern off their website.

I had bought this book from the supermarket recently as I have been interested in a while.

Lou has also advised a site to visit.

Hope I have more luck than Lou. Time will tell.

I also bought these stitch savers in Humpty Doo, NT, when I went on our trip in August. I thought they were appropriate.

It's good to learn something new for the new year. And socks are a very portable project. Good luck.

I'm delighted you're going to have a go at knitting socks! That's a good book you've got there (Lynne Rowe is a friend of mine, we spoke a LOT about socks when she was writing that book! 😀), and I see you've found my blog too ... between us, I hope that Lynne and I can help you get socks on your feet very soon! xx

Knitting socks is so very satisfying. Mind you, I knit my socks flat, on two needles, with a side seam, just couldnt cope with knitting them circular. Do let us know how you get on.

I've seen that book too & would like to hear how you find it for making them. I've knitted one pair of socks, which turned out way too big for me, but would like to try more at some stage. Love those sock needle ends. Have a lovely Christmas, take care & hugs.

Do have fun with your sock journey. I’ve made a couple of pairs now and enjoyed the process. I love the wool you have chosen. Gorgeous colours. Oh, and those sock needle holders are so sweet. I wonder where I have seen some before?? Thanks.
