Lupine and Laughter Bonnie Hunter Mystery

I love sewing along with Bonnie Hunter over at Quiltville Inn. This is a mystery that starts at end November and goes through to mid January. I have made about 5 others and it was time to do another one. They have lots of pieces but I manage to enjoy making them.

So for clue one we had to make hundreds of hour glass blocks

Clue two we had to make hundreds of flying geese

Clue three we had to make hundreds of half square triangles

in 3 different sizes.

Next up was clue four. Yes hundreds of half rectangle triangles

Oh boy, that was some work. This brought us up to the Christmas week. Bonnie gave us an easy clue five this time. Cutting more squares and assemble with blocks made in clue 1.

These didn’t take long at all

Clue six was another story. Assemble parts from clue 3 & 4. Sounds easy.
OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had trimmed my 100’s of hst to the finished size and not the cut size so I had to make them all over again.

Thanks to Chooky having a zoom session on New Years Eve and another one all New Year’s Day I made progress.

and they are all completed

Ready for clue seven on Saturday.

Oh no. I can't believe you had to remake so many pieces. You get the perseverance award this week.
The quilt will be gorgeous in your colors.

So many pieces! Such a shame you had to redo all those blocks - well at least they are ready to make something else lol I am looking forward to seeing how these all go together. xx

You wrote "had to remake them all over again", oh how frustrating. I tried one of her mystery quilts once but couldnt cope with not knowing how it would turn out, so gave it up. Seems I'm not a mystery quilter at all.

The 100's part scares me and oh no to having to redo some!
That last part is a new block design to me ... looks good x

You are doing well keeping up with it all. I am sure you will find another use for all the HSTs that were the wrong size. The parts look lovely so I am looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

Oh no! We've all done it though, trimmed things to finished size. But hundreds.... Like I said OH NO! Good that you were able to catch up though, and you have a bunch of blocks ready for another project. The blocks do look beautiful, I love your colours. Too many pieces foe me, especially triangles!

Keeping up to date with the clues has definitely been a feat of endurance, especially remaking all this HSTs. Good luck with getting Clue 7 done.

Oh man on the re-do of all those HSTs. BUT now you have a bunch of HSTs for a fun table topper or something. I'm not a fan of the half rectangles. I'm not whining... that's one of the rules. I'm just taking my good sweet time with them. Looking forward to the clue on Friday! Your fabrics are beautiful.
