My Japanese, sashiko pin cushion

Ok… after being on zoom at new years and the discussion about my thoughts on my pin cushion. I acted.

Yes, after 2 years I did something about it.

I chose fabric, thread and a design.

I drew my lines, started sewing and then it was done.

A little stitch gathered up and filling put in. I now have a pin cushion in my special hexagon pot.

And don’t these special pins look so good in their new home. A set of sewing tools and a special cheeky owl for Tony.

Why has it taken 2 years to do something that only took about 3 hours to stitch and complete.
Anyway, it is done now and is very special to me.
I love it.

This is too cute! And you're right about why does it take so long to do something that just doesn't take time at all!

Ahem... I think I may have one of those sitting waiting for attention too - I got mine the following year and scaredy got it through customs after spraying it with polyurethane. I need to take inspiration from you!! Awesome job.

Oh so when you read the posts out of order, you get your facts wrong - I see the previous post shows the SS one!! (I did think this one was smaller but thought there might have been different versions given out!!)

What a gorgeous little pot and some very cute pins, maybe it took 2 years to do so that you could get it right?

I wish I had thought of a pin cushion for my Sashiko goal last year. Perhaps I could have accomplished that.
