Wool felt project

The week between Christmas and New Years I worked on my wool felt needle case hold all project. This is the first time I have worked with wool.

I whip stitched all the shapes on first

Then I pulled my threads

 and started stitching

I was worried to touch the eyes but they worked out great.

Time to pull coordinating fabrics for the pockets and lining. I knew I had some gum leaves (I thought the right colour). The one I wanted to use was to grey/blue

So I went with the yellow and green and wattle.

The inside zipper went in well

Just finishing hand stitching the binding

A place to store needles and packets, scissors and extras

I am very happy with this finish.

It's lovely Jo! And yes, you did a great job on the eyes, I would have been worried too. xx

You have every right to be happy about it, Jo! It turned out very well. Good work on all the detail stitching, including those eyes.

How lovely - the eyes are great...we do worry sometimes unnecessarily.

Great project, Jo. I am hoping to start wool applique this year. I want to learn and have a project in mind.

That is just beautiful Jo. I really enjoy working with wool felt - it is such a lovely medium to work with & a good change from patchwork fabric sometimes. x
