I had a bit of trouble with the blocks not being even on two of the sashings and my quilting lines went really off.
So I unpicked half of one sashing to fudge the design a bit…
2 of the crosses are a funny shape but at least it gets them back on track
Now all sashings are quilted
Quilting, binding, label, washed and all quilting lines are removed.
It’s on the bed.
It looks amazing and fits my bed so well.
I LOVE IT.
So now I need another hand project. A smaller one this time.
I am off to Japan at the end of the year and will need to take a pretty hand towel/washcloth with me.
What better time to stitch my sashiko cloth that I bought 10 years ago.
I love this coloured variegated thread.
This is easy sewing for just sitting and relaxation. Not much concentration needed. Just stitch straight lines. Look how much I got done tonight.
I’m linking up with Kathy for Slow Stitching Sunday

Well done on the finish - it looks great on the bed and a bit of a fudge will go unnoticed.
I do love sashiko and variegated threads - you will have that done in no time!
Your quilt looks fantastic! Only you will care about the quilting fudge. I have never worked on Sashiko. I assume you work across the fabric and then go back and work up and down. I like the variegated floss that you are using.
Beautiful quilt!
Your quilt is o perfect on your bed--what a great finish!! Nice work.
I love the variegated sashiko look--really neat hugs, Julierose
That's a great finish, hand quilting a large bed quilt takes a lot of work! Your shashiko panel looks so pretty, and a trip to Japan, what fun
The quilt looks so good on your bed. Your friend will be thrilled to see it finished. I love the Sashiko. I’ve just bought a few small panels and some variegated thread.
A beautiful finish and the hand quilting makes it extra special.
Love your sashiko with the variegated thread.
Great save with the sashing and beautiful finish, Jo! And the sashiko sounds/looks like a relaxing project. I agree, the variegated thread creaes a lovely effect.
And now you are wondering why you put off doing the sashiko for so long?
Love the quilt Jo, just perfect with your dark furniture. Great finish. xx
Wow, nice and smart fix on the quilting. It looks very pretty on the bed.
Japan? How exciting. I Jane family there now and should go, but knowing me, I won't.
Great too get some more slow stitchin' done.
Yes, the quilt is amazing and yes, you are the only one who will notice any fudging so don't point it out!!!
I am trying to stay out of quilt shops so please advise on where to find a nice sashiko project like you are working on. I need brainless sometimes, too, especially if it can be done in a car.
What a beautiful quilt finish Jo.
Love the colourful sashiko.
Well done on getting your quilt finished and on the bed. I am always in awe of those who handquilt.
Well done on the finish Jo, it looks amazing!! The sashiko is beautiful too.
I like that your sashiko project matches the pattern of your quilt!
The quilt looks great on the bed! Definitely quilt weather here, it is 2 degrees here at present.
