Sashiko and Boro work

I have really been enjoying some hand work in the last couple of months.

I finished my Sashiko piece

I have also finished my Boro piece while sitting in the hospital with Tony.

I added a different colour, blue, where I used the masking tape dividers.

Then I put in a mustard thread in the centre of these for a bit of colour.

I circled around the fish.. Japanese pyjamas were used in this piece.

My piece is now finished. Now I must decide how to cut it up and what to use it for.

I have really enjoyed stitching this. It was so relaxing and passed away the time so easily.

I really like your Sashiko stitchery. It's good to have something to do while you are visiting hubby in hospital. I bet the nurses were interested in what you were doing too.

Gosh it is just so lovely Jo. I especially love how you circled around the fish - so effective. Perhaps a cushion cover - seems too nice to cut up??

Then Sashiko piece is beautiful and I just love the texture you have created on the Boro piece, especially how you have created curves as well as straight stitching. I’m sure you will make something wonderful with it.

Such a pretty Sashiko piece you made.
Boro piece could become a bag.

Lovely to see what you have been doing. Those fish look cute, I like that you worked around them. Is that a typical boro thing to do?

Two lovely finishes. xx

The great thing about sashiko and boro - hardly any prep, handy to pick up & go and don't even need really good light. Well done on both

Both pieces are wonderful, too nice to cut up!! Perfect for when you are sitting with Tony. How is he progressing?
