I have been thinking about my oversized bucket hat. I think I came up with a way to fix it.
A date with Jack and it is unpicked. But not all the way.
1/2” trimmed from the brim and the side/height pieces. Then about 5-6” in width on the brim.
All sewn back together
I’m happy with this now. It sits deep and heavy enough. I shouldn’t have to put a tie on it
This will stay in the caravan for our trips. I do love the colours.

Great, sure will keep the sun of you….
Thanks for the pictures…as a very pale person, the sun is not always my friend….i turn into a lobster too easily….always looking for fun hats to wear….cheers, Louise
Wow! That works! You will get compliments galore when you wear it
That worked out well.
You were very clever to make the sun hat in the first place, and even more talented to pull it apart and fix it to fit you perfectly. Well done!
ooh stylish and practical
Well done to get it fixed Jo, it looks amazing!
That’s what I call a win. Well done on making it fit.
It's great! Worth persevering. xx
Ha quedado estupendo. BESICOS.
Cute hat
I am impressed with the hat in the first place. And then I am impressed with your ability to figure out how to adjust the size. I like that you included selvedges.
Oh, how beautiful your hat is. I like it a lot. I sewed hats for myself last summer too - we now have winter here with sub-zero temperatures -
I'm very happy to see your beautiful summer hat. It fits wonderfully. Thank you very much for the inspiration... I'm starting to feel like sewing a new hat for myself :-)))
Many kind regards from Viola
Love the bucket hat! I've made a few and I know how tricky it is to get the right size. Looks like you were able to alter yours pretty simply. Cute colors!!!
What a great result and it looks wonderful.
Selvedge hat = ADORABLE!! I have not seen anything like it. It totally makes me smile!
