We did spend some time sewing and stitching together though.
After lunch at a lovely cafe, a tour of the area, visiting 3 patchwork shops, spending some money and then back for a beautiful meal and a lovely evening here is the sewing photo.

A gift for a friend

I needed to make a special gift for a friend.. So I put together this cute wall hanging...
I just love the colours...
I used it as a practice for the new Westalee quilting rulers.. I used a small clam shell design.,I am very happy with how it has turned out...

I love the jar of buttons. There is still something to stitch on it but I will not be showing that as it might give the gift away....

I'll be sharing my Friday night with a blogging friend so I'm sure there will be some stitching of some sort.
So go have a look, sign up and stitch along with us all
I am really looking forward to my weekend adventure.

Look out for the posts...

Another crochet blanket

after finishing off a lot of mums crafts there are still a few longer projects to do.
I found this crochet blanket started and I have never seen this pattern before. So I had to unpick some rows to work out the design.

They look like rows of flowers in a vase. It is very pretty.

I have lots of different colours for the flowers so I will just keep working until I run out of the pink or free or it is a good size to stop...
It will take me a while to finish. This will be a job to pick up in between other projects.

Such great mail today. Im EXCITED

I am so excited.
When I got home today I had a parcel waiting for me. I couldn't wait to open it and do a post about it. I had been expecting it.....
A few while ago on a blog somewhere I read about getting your blog put into a book.
I had a look into it and never got around to going through with it.
Then late one night I couldn't sleep so I had a play, hit the BUY button, paid, then had to sit and wait for the finished product.
Like I said.
I AM SO EXCITED AND SO HAPPY I DID IT.

Here is the front cover.

My introduction.

Contents pages.

Blog post pages.

The back cover.

There are 80 pages all up and it cost $65.
When you order it is in American Dollars so just beware.

So go on over and have a look.
It did take a while to sort it out but it is worth it.
I have already ordered my next book for the year of 2014.
You can choose the dates of what you want printed....

I had to use my lovely pin cushions that were gifts from Cheryl & Keryn as page stoppers. I do use them

My new knitted socks.

I received these in the mail a few weeks ago.
Aren't they groovy... I love knitted socks and Kimberley was having a give away... Lucky me won them....
I tried one on and it looks a little stretched compared to the other one. All is good. They fit.
Love the ORANGE.. I might lose them to my daughter now.

Here they are on my feet. They are lovely.

Thanks Kimberley

Such a great FATHERS DAY weekend

Friday night started out with FNWF,
 http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/sign-up-time.html
And I was quilting 4 quilts for the Heathcote RSL nursing home.
Heathcote Quilters were lucky enough to get a grant to help with the making of these quilts. The RSL wanted about 40 lap size quilts.. Our committee wanted to help and wanted them made quickly.. We only have about 20 members so it was going to be some work. Really.....
Here is what I have done...
Here it is just all over meandered...

I had fun with doing this quilting. It is a continuos circle of quilting

I have made these 4 quilts over the weekend. I love the colours. They are all bound. Today I have finished the last binding and sewn in all the ends.
They are backed with polar fleece which isn't my favourite. I wouldn't use these on my projects. They are harder to quilt and work with. Anyway they are done and that has been my weekend.

Now to tell you it really wasn't that hard. These are cheater panels so all I had to do was to piece a border on then baste and quilt them... Easy, easy, easy....
They only measure 42" square.

So that 680" of binding.
Way to go BINDING BLITZ...

And I am linking up with SLOW SUNDAY STITCHING

And another 4 finishes for OPAM

FNWF

WOW. THESE FRIDAYS ARE COMING AROUND SO QUICKLY.
We all must be so busy that each week ends without us realising....
This week I have finished some more BEANIES.
Some get sent overseas for kids and some are to an organisation called AVALON. I don't know much else except a craft friend of my mums who I still meet up with on Wednesdays donates to.
In between other things I will continue to knit these beanies for the homeless. I have so much yarn here and they are so easy to make 1 here or there... Don't have to concentrate much. That is what I like.

So a total of 8 finishes so far for me this month...
A good start for OPAM

So tonight is FNWF with Cheryll
Go on over for a good read over the weekend to see what everyone has been up to.
I will be working on some charity quilts this weekend.

Just look at these cuties

My mum was always knitting for someone or making gifts for different groups. These didn't get finished but they are now....
This beautiful matinee jacket and booties is so sweet. All I dad to do was to knit one band, sew on the buttons and thread the ribbon....how cute.

Then there were there knitted coat hanger covers. They were already knitted so a quick sew up and they were done...mercy pretty...

Then I found something in the bottom of my cupboard that wasn't finished. It is now... A gift for someone....
