Another quilt finished for a dear friend.

My friend does lively quilts but she cannot quilt them. They are too big and heavy. I help her out and just look at this beauty. Here is my progress.

Still using PINKS

I've had a little fun using up my pink crumbs. A friend was delivered a lovely meal in a casserole dish and carrier. I loved it so much I thought I'd give it a go.
My version of a Casserole Cover / Carrier.

I think it has turned out great and will be making some more for the Trade Table for Kilmore Quilters Quilt show in October... The next ones I think I will put on two handles.

Then I had a little play around with this little TEA CUP pin cushion. I didn't have a pattern, just guessed. It's a little wonky. This is for the Trade Table too...

A little sewing room stitchery

I found this little stitchery gift my mum had given me. So I sat and did it.
It is so cute. Will it be a gift for someone or put on the wall  in my workroom.

Slow Sunday Stitching

on my Sunday's I never know what I'll be doing but I always like sneaking in some stitching.
I am helping a friend make these mug rugs for a fundraiser for BREAST CANCER. She has made about 120 all up.
I just have to finish my last 14. I am hand stitching this last pile of bindings for her.

Bindings for 14 mug rugs @ 32" = 448"

pink, pink & pink

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY....
I have sewn these lovely little bowls using up some more pink crumbs.
They are very cute and so easy to put together. Great for the gift box.

Can't do any sewing today. I'm off to see FIFTY SHADES OF GREY with my daughter. Then have a dinner with her and my hubby.

Another quilt quilted for a friend and some POPPIES

I have a dear friend who cannot quilt anything larger than a small wall hanging so I help out. She then puts the binding on when I am done.
This is a large quilt and it did take a bit of time for me to do. It is finished.
It is a BASKET WEAVE pattern. A quick and easy design I showed her.
ANNA did a lovely job in making it. I just hope she likes how I have quilted it.

I made some knitted POPPIES to donate to my local quilt group. Kilmore Quilters.
We are using them for our display. It is such a big thing this year for us here in AUSTRALIA.
Read about it all HERE. They have collected about 9000 already. They were only expecting 5000. They are collecting until March.

They were so quick and easy to do. I wonder if they count as a OPAM.

here is the pattern I used. I got 12 poppies from one 8 ply ball of acrylic yarn.

a sweet lady down the street

There is a sweet lady who lives in the Main Street of my town. She has a beautiful cottage garden. Since losing my son she regularly phones me up and says....
It's that time, my flowers are blooming.
This is what she delivers.....

What a beautiful bunch of flowers to display with my family. She is so sweet.
Thankyou Lorraine.....

School is back

So my grandson, who is now in grade 1, is back at school. Of course he needs a new ART SMOCK.
I had a little bit of fabric here. He didn't like much of it so I am hoping he likes what I have made.

He liked the camouflage fabric  then I had to find something to go with it.
I found this aircraft fabric. Yes I know it is going sideways but I had to go with what I had.
It is reversible so when one side is too messy just put it on the other way.
I hope he likes it.
YES HE DOES....

Not much done this evening

I have started this new little stitchery for XMAS.
I thought it would be nice for my grandsons to have something special to hang on their door.
Well here is the start. I am going away on a bike trip soon and this will fit in my bag. It is not big, it is not much but at least it will be there if I feel the urge and have the time to do a little bit of sewing.
It is so cute or will be when it is finished.
This is my Slow SUNDAY Stitching
Let's hope I can get this finished this year. I have bought a special key to hang on the bottom too...
