I had sewn these blocks well back at the beginning of 2018 when I wasn't keeping up with the mystery weekly instructions. I was so far behind and got really bored with it. Trying to fit it in around work. It seemed to be taking too long. But good things come to those who wait.
I sat down in front of a nights tv and started to trim.
Okay.. sew 2 movies later I have all the blocks trimmed and ready for joining together.
My hands are sore and need a rest.
When I went to sew the sashings together I discovered I had ironed them all the wrong way.
I've started re ironing them. They will be waiting there for me next weekend..
When I was away at retreat it's obvious the conversation was distracting as I didn't read the directions correctly/thoroughly..
At least I don't have to unpick or resew....

Yes I found that the Mystery got boring at times. Too many blocks the same... Thats why i'm just downloading this one first..
Oh, that's a pain! Hope you can do them while chatting with friends or watching something good so that the time flies by.
I love the blocks, great colour. I like to have more than one project on the go as I get bored also with certain parts of the process. Love having films on in the background particularly Star Wars. ;)
Thats a bummer Jo, but as you say at least it is not unsewing!
No wonder you hand hurt!
I am glad you don't have to pick and sew again. I can't wait to see how yours turns out with the lovely yellows!
Sometimes it is hard to think at quilter retreats. I try to take mindless sewing and no cutting to those. I can't think well about cutting while I visit.
My friends are planning a getaway retreat in March. I look so forward to it!
I would rather iron than unpick and sew. The last retreat I went to, didn’t get much done as others kept coming up to chat. Next time I will take knitting.
