A finish and a trip to the post office

yesterday I went for they day at NOTY quilt group. My friend Kris drive and I met up with Ann & Christine. Boy did we laugh. I think we were at either the  noisy or the naughty end of the table again.
Haha. Fun fun fun...
I was sewing my binding down and today it is all finished and in the box is all taped up.

I also got all my CHISTMAS IN JULY parcels wrapped.

Now off to the POST OFFICE....
I watched Bonnie Hunter over at Quiltville live today. She has a quiltcam which can be watched anytime. Occasionally I get to see her live. Today was one of those days. While I was watching I started sorting out some scraps and cutting TUMBLERS for this years Leader and Ender challenge.

I am waiting for a friend to arrive, then out for dinner and a great catch up...

Happy mail

wow.. My postie has delivered some happy mail.
So first up I received a parcel from the UK. I had no idea what it was but was very excited to open it.
I have been talking to Linda from http://linda-koshka2quilts.blogspot.com.au
We have swapped many emails and it is very nice to talk to someone who lives near where you have holidayed or been through the same as you.
I have been working on crazy patchwork projects and Linda thought she would clean her stash. Wasn't I lucky...
Here is what she sent me.... Now to use it.

Look at these beautiful Laces. I am sure I can use them in my CRAZY PATCHWORK.
THANK YOU SO MUCH LINDA

Then on the same day I received my parcel from ???!???
It was from CIJ.
My Xmas in July partner....
I recognise the address. I have sent something to her before. Do I snoop... No... RELAX.
WAIT UNTIL THE 25th....... OK
I have not opened the package. Yes, I will wait.....

At home for the weekend

I came home from a lovely week away on  Friday and joined in on FNWF.....
It was a relaxing night doing some stitching and knitting..
Firstly, I sewed up all 12 of the dishcloths I made while I was away... They are great to go in the gift box & I just love using them myself. The new flower pattern was very quick and easy to follow. I am happy with the way they have turned out..
You can get the pattern from HERE

After they were done I went on with some little stitcheries that have been sitting around for a while. It's time to get them done..... They now need to be put into some cute decorations....

Then for some secret sewing.......

Grab a cuppa and have a look at what everyone else got up to...

Thanks Chez for the SAL......

My weekend continued with sewing binding, binding and binding on my AUSSIE HERO QUILT. This quilt is a QAYG. A new technique for me and lots of binding... A whole 676".....
I have been making these for a few months now and get great pleasure out of it. I find the challenge of new ideas is what keeps me interested....

So for slow Sunday stitching I am linking up with Kathy and many more...

And for Monday link ups have a look here

Shopping trip and what I'm up too

On a walk one day I saw this shop. The Material Girls.
Of course I couldn't keep walking so in I went.

And out I came with.... A Christmas pattern and silver thread for my spider webs...

Stop for a drink at the club on the way home... Little Xavier snuck into the photo and Nicholas was good enough to take our photo.

Bad to the unit to continue with my knitting and stitching.
Dishcloths, clam shells and little birdies..... What will they end up as.....

A visit from my daughter and grandsons...

We had a great day today. A soak in the spa, a walk, lunch, another soak in the spa and then a rest.
Who is the king of the castle.  NICHOLAS is.
Nicholas was happy but poor Xavier was scared of the big tank.
Nicholas showing off the jumper I just made for him...
Proud mum with Xavier clinging to her. It's not very often she gets a photo with the boys.
Just to show the size of the plane for the boys.

The difference a day makes....

Look at the view of the lake. Unfortunately it is not alive with skiers, boats, or jet skis. There is no water.... The sun was going down but the view was still pretty and peaceful.
Next morning, actually at lunch time, this was the view. So foggy and very fresh....
It did lift to a beautiful afternoon..

Of course the sewing came too....FNWF

Just because I am away doesn't mean NO SEWING. Of course I have made a great little set up. I have brought along my QAYG. It is an AUSSIE HERO QUILT.
And here it is so far.

I have done more and all that is left is for to to hand stitch down those joint strips.
I can tell you I am NOT a fan of this technique... I'll be glad to see it done...

This Friday is FNWF
I'm not sure what I will be doing but there is plenty to be done..
I'll be home in my own comfy chair with a glass of wine.

I am away and enjoying my walk around town

I decided to go away for a little holiday. Hubby came for the weekend. We had a good sleep in then went for a walk to enjoy some sunshine.
Back over the bridge from Mulwala, NSW, to Yarrawonga VICTORIA. Hubby doesn't like his photo being taken. Can you tell.

Then getting him to take my photo is even harder. Here I am against the old watch house. Built in
1894.
Looking back over to Mulwala side.
The power station. The water coming from the lake through the station at a great force.
 Look at the force.

About the power station
There is a bird keeping watch. Maybe he might catch a fish soon
Then past the back of the local RSL & Club Mulwala.
