Baby boy quilt finished

I finally got around to finishing the baby quilt. This will go with the bibs and bunny package.

I have also added a cute label which is a must.

The binding is on so this is now a finish…

I was sent Mari’s  left over bird fabric which I love. Read about how this journey began here..

Super cute tooth fairy pillow

Our granddaughter just lost her tooth but had nowhere to put it out for the tooth fairy. So just used the old glass of water. Her mum had not heard of a tooth fairy pillow. I had to make one for her. They are a bit addictive. I thought I may as well use the whole piece of felt I had while I had everything out. I ended up making 7 in the one day. As I said SUPER EASY. The girls at work absolutely loved them. They were a winner and now all gone.

The yellow marks will come out soon. They are just there to mark where the eyes and mouth go.

All done and waiting for their eyes.

Oh they look so cute. The tooth gets put in the mouth pocket.

Baby bibs and other gifts.

One of my best and oldest friends recently became first time grandparents. I have been busy making some gifts for them. I already had a sample package put aside. I keep this for measurements and a reminder of how/what to do. So out came other supplies

I make these bibs out of a towel. It’s the easiest way. Buy a nice quality towel. Depending on the size I can get 6-8 bibs made. Cut the towel evenly. I then cut a 6” hole for the head. Add ribbing for the neck and add binding in the colour of your choice. No backing required because of the good towel used. The bibs can’t be pulled off easy and they cover a lot of the body front. Easy clean up.

I continued to make flannelette bandana bibs with the snap closures.
The holes cut from the towelling bibs I backed with flannelette and overlocked the edges. These became washable breast pads.
Also made, the new in thing, pee pee tents. To help when changing boys nappies.

And I love knitting these cuddle bunnies. I use soft thick yarn. Chenille works really well.

This is a super easy cute baby gift package.

More for Aussie Heroes.

I decided to start on a few UFO’s in my cupboard.

I had quilted these 2 quilts a while back but never did any more. The pile just grew. These are allocated to Aussie Heroes when one day a suitable recipient will come up on the list. Aussie Hero Quilts

Starting to trim.

Trimming no 1 quilt.

Trimming no 2 quilt.

The front of both quilts are very similar

The binding is yet to be cut and attached. This will happen soon.

A quilt for an Aussie Hero.

After zoom the other Saturday I continued in my sewing mood and spent the day trimming, quilting and binding a quilt for an Aussie Hero. AUSSIE HERO QUILTS

I had this quilt made for quite a while and it had already been basted.

I trimmed it even. I’m not sure why I did this before I quilted as I normally trim after quilting. A brain fade moment.

I did a simple quilt in the ditch diagonally and horizontally.

Next was attaching the binding.

All by machine.

This quilt and laundry bag have been sent off to a HERO on deployment.

Tea bags, tea bags and more tea bags strings.

I received some happy mail this week. It must be tea bag string week. Thanks everyone for your help. I probably use about 6 or 7 tea bags a week so it is slow going for me but with others collecting and mailing them to me I have some knitting to do.

Thanks Susan

Murray, my brothers neighbour.

Look at all the different colours. This scarf will be lovely. Now I’d better get knitting and I know someone who would love to wear one of these scarves. It will be a Xmas gift for a special lady.
