PIXELATION IS DONE

I have been working on a pixelation quilt using a photo of my son.
There is approx.4500 1/2" pieces of fabric in it.
I have quilted in zigzag down both directions. Wow. It forms STARS on the back. Another way my son is shining through.

You can really see his eyes.
To see more about it go HERE, HERE , HERE & HERE FOR THE START

I am sewing the binding while watching Bonnie Hunters QUILT CAM
Go over and sew while watching Bonnie sew at home. She talks about her own quilts and things she does every day.

Beautiful job. I'm sure your son is looking down and smiling. I lost a granddaughter at age 8. She would have been 18 this year. The pain lessens but doesn't go away. Best to you andvyours.

Jo, I am very impressed with this pixelation quilt. What a wonderful memorial to your son. I am sure it will give you comfort as you struggle with your grief. My daughter died in 1989 when she was almost six years old. I would still like to do something like this to honor her!

What an amazing quilt! Your quilt first came to my attention when I was watching the Bonnie Hunter QuiltCam. It is a marvellous way to remember and go our your son. So like the lovely photo of him. I too lost a son, in 1996 when Christopher was 21 so I understand the journey you have started. It took me ten years to make a Memory Quilt of Christopher. I used his shirts and photos of him at different stages of his life. But it is a cupboard not up in the living room as part of your family like your quilt portrait.

Sorry, just reread my comment. There is a typo. Sentence should read: " it is a marvellous way to remember and honour your son".
