I had a great Saturday workshop at Kilmore Quilters with Neil Chisholm.
Neil spent a lot of time with us explaining about threads and tension to get us started with some appliqué on some hearts. We tried blanket stitch or satin st. I wanted to make my satin stitch better so I stuck with that. We were all given a pattern to do, shown how to use the scan and cut, given some tips as we went.
A WALK IN THE PARK. (The pattern and finished project)
Here was the start of mine before starting to stitch. I decided to use Xmas fabrics to be different.
A WALK IN THE PARK. (The pattern and finished project)
Here was the start of mine before starting to stitch. I decided to use Xmas fabrics to be different.
We were to try one flower before going on with the whole layout. There just isn't enough time in a day to do all the stitching, attach borders and quilt. So here is Neil giving us a quilting lesson.
Now for the whole design ironed on to the background ready to be stitched.
(Photo to come)
We had such a fun day. With lots of laughs all day. Can't repeat some of the topics but they were good. Made some people blush too.... Hahahahaha.
So go and have a look at Neil's work and the classes he teaches and workshops he holds.
Thankyou Neil
