Red & White happiness

Well I got stuck into the red and white quilt. I didn't end up doing the leadlight/stained glass block. I ended up making a scrappy crumbs block. All the blocks were supposed to be 8.5" but that doesn't always happen. Some were smaller and some I couldn't cut down to that... I decided to make all the blocks up to 9.5" by putting borders around each block.
So this is what I ended up with....
Red & White flower baskets friendship quilt

I also went to spotlight for the white& red fabric. Silly me. It cost a fortune... There was a super sale on Xmas fabric at 75% off. I couldn't resist...

6 teatowels and 2 packets of tissue paper & over 30 metres of fabric.
What a bargain.

My docket says a total savings of $275.30....,

Cute tea towels and tissue paper ready for next Xmas...

Look at these bargains

Such pretty fabric

You've done a fabulous job on this quilt top...especially as the blocks were all over the place size and style wise...love the idea of going with a medallion style, really ties the blocks together...well it is the savings that count isn't it *LOL*...lovely fabrics, well scored!!...

"Bargain Booty'!! Beautiful red and white xmas fabrics. Red and White Baskets - how beautiful is the finished top - and the borders around some of the blocks look really good. A job well done!

Oh just wonderful! Love your bargains too x

Spectacular savings on spectacular fabrics. I think adding the borders adds more character to your quilt than if they were all the same size to begin with. A fortuitous problem to need to fix!!

That Christmas fabric is GORGEOUS! I wouldn't have been able to resist either. I am a sucker for a sale. Since I counted up all of the fabric I have purchased per project and discovered I have 8 quilts I could make, I hope it will keep me from buying more.

Beautiful job on the Red and white quilt top. The savings at spotlight were very good... I got backing for a quilt and was very happy with the cost. I just need to use a LOT of the fabric I have in the house!
