Sashiko washcloth

I have been getting into the Japanese mood as my holiday draws closer.

Happily stitching away on a sashiko washcloth.

This is where I last left it. Nearly to the finish of one direction.

I have changed direction and am now sewing along the other edge.

I just love this variegated thread.

You can see the pattern starting to show. I am enjoying the process of slow stitching.

You are making great progress now. It will be fun seeing how the colours blend and pool as you work your way across.

I love it and you inspired me to take a couple of simple patterns with me on our trip the first week of September. Found them in an etsy shop. It was the perfect car project. But I can't seem to find the light background like you have here. You are right, it's soothing!
