Well I decided to bite the bullet and hire the quilting frame at our local quilt shop. I had my Bonnie Hunter ON RINGO LAKE quilt top dropped off with the backing and wadding. Helen was wonderful and had it all loaded before I got there for the day.
Helen helped me roll it on each time. She was great.
Look at the quilting pattern. I love it.
It’s a huge quilt measuring 76” * 90”. I can see the end and a couple more runs and it will be done....
I chose a dark brown backing and used latte coloured thread. The quilting design matches the backing really well.
And 6 hours later I had it quilted.
I am exhausted, my feet and back are killing me. Time for a rest now...
It definitely was well worth it. All I have to do now is trim it then bind it....

Good for you! It looks wonderful. Yes, definitely worth it!
It is a beautiful quilting pattern.
My back aches just thinking about standing and quilting for that long.
Wow! Looks amazing! The quilting is lovely and you will have a finish in no time
Wow, it's a stunning quilt and I love that quilting design you chose too. How wonderful that your LQS lets your book the quilting frame.
Gorgeous. Had you used a quilting frame before?
This quilt looks beautiful. I love this very much! Anyway, I found another fabric store which is Broadway Fabrics.
Well done Jo, your quilt looks fantastic. That is a long time to be standing working the quilting machine, but so worth it! The pattern is lovely .
That was a big job, it's looking great! Makes you wonder how some people do this everyday, for a living.
Fabulous, your quilt looks great. You are fortunate that your local shop can hire their machine for the day.
That's a really useful service for a shop to offer! Your quilt looks great. I hope your back and feet recover quickly - but how wonderful to get it all quilted in one day!
Your quilting looks great. You chose the thread colour and quilting design so well.how marvellous to be able to quilt it on a long arm with Helen to help. I’ve never had a quilt long armed ( the cost sounds so high) but this is a great idea. I haven’t been into a quilt shop for so long! All shut because of Covid of course. Congratulations, Jo.
Six hours well spent! I love the colors you used for this. It looks peaceful but bright at the same time.
Your quilt looks great, Jo. Well done with the quilting.
What a marathon effort. It looks fantastic and isn’t it great when you can find a design that ties in with the fabric. I look forward to seeing it all finished.
76" x 90" is not huge, it is barely bed sized. Beautiful quilt, and nice quilting too!
Absolutely gorgeous. It was so worth it!!!
Fantastic finish and much easier then quilting on your machine...
It is absolutely stunning!
Well done Jo, now you might be tempted to buy a machine of your own? Did you enjoy the process? Your quilt looks great and lovely pattern you chose.
Always exciting to get another one quilted..... It's a lovely quilt.....
Wow, Jo, what an achievement! You must be so proud of yourself! Your quilt has been so beautifully made - and now long armed by you. Amazing.
